Boulder Creek Fire’s Christmas Tree Lot

The Boulder Creek Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Christmas tree sale is in full swing! The lot is located behind the fire station at 13230 Central Ave, Boulder Creek. Turn in at Middleton and you’ll see the array of choices. A variety of fir trees are available in every size imaginable. Firefighters are on hand to help you with your selection, and they’ll make a fresh cut at the trunk to help the tree absorb water and stay fresher while on display in your home.

The tree lot is open weekdays from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm and weekends from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. All proceeds from tree sales go towards the purchase of new rescue and medical equipment.

The Boulder Creek Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1892 and the Boulder Creek Fire Protection District established in 1923.  The District is guided by a five-person Board of Directors who have staggered four-year terms.  The District covers 21 square miles of mountainous terrain and serves over 7,000 citizens.

The District is funded through property taxes. Due to the decline in home values, revenue has been impacted. The District has a separate fundraising arm – the Boulder Creek Fire Department Inc., which is a nonprofit. This group consists of fire department and community members who raise funds through events throughout the year, such as pancake breakfasts (July 4), dinner dances (August), Crab Feeds (March), and Christmas tree sales (November-December).
